Moving Forward

Change and moving forward are part of life’s journey, so as you may have noticed we made some changes to the design of the blog. While still honoring the memory of Grover, we have updated the name to Walter and Doc, and the new cartoon reflects that. I think Grover would be proud that Doc and I are carrying on his legacy of helping others.

As with all things in life, you need help sometimes, so Doc started by tracking down the artist, Christen Cushing that created the first cartoon of Grover and Doc. It had been over eleven years since she had contact with her, so it took some searching. With the instincts of blood hound, Doc searched by asking one of her old friends and looked on social media, and Walla! She tracked her down in Los Angeles, California. She is now an animator for CBS, so we are so lucky to have such a talented and famous artist to update the cartoon. It was heartwarming when Cristen told us she would be so happy to do the cartoon because she knows we’re trying to do something good to help people. We also got help from the IT department and input from some of the administrators and staff. As they say it takes a village or as I put it, my pack helped me.

We also want to thank all the loyal readers over the years and the ones that only recently joined us. We value your responses and input as you continue to follow my journey from puppy hood to someday soon becoming a real live certified therapy dog.

Stay tuned, as we also have some other things we are working on to expand my social media presence to help even more people. We will keep all of you informed as we roll out new content.

Until then, focus on self-care, stay cool and count your blessings.
